CPU frequency and voltage scaling is essential for embedded systems since it greatly improves battery life of the portable devices.
The idea of frequency scaling is simple - when the embedded system is idle the CPU clock should be reduced. Additionally when more processing power is required the CPU speed should be accordingly increased. This approach delivers performance when the embedded device performs CPU intensive tasks and enhances the battery life when the device is not actively used.
The energy that a typical processor consumes is a square function of its clock rate. This means that a CPU running at 100MHz consumes eight times less energy than a processor running at 400MHz.

There is no specific information given as to the processor requirements of Speedbooster on the Teksoft web site but it requires 371kb of storage space to install. Teksoft recommend that it is suitable for Windows Mobile 2003 and 2005 for both Pocket PC and Smartphone.

Program służący do przetaktowywania zegara naszego procesora aż do 728 MHz w zależności od sprzętu jakim dysponujemy. Pozwala również na umieszczenie ikonki monitującej jego obciążenie w wybranym przez nas miejscu. Obsługuje zdecydowaną większość palmtopów. Pełna lista dostępna na stronie producenta.

XCPUScalar allows you to dynamically scale the processor speed of your handheld Pocket PC 2002, Windows Mobile 2003, WM2003 SE, and Windows Mobile 5. It uses the power of the XSCALE or TI OMAP (OMAP850 and OMAP1510) processor and unlocks its dynamic scaling capabilities. You can scale the processor speed from 100 to 728MHz. Aplikacja dająca możliwość obniżania taktowania procesora by przedłużyć żywotność baterii. Koncepcja działania programu jest bardzo prosta. Jeśli system nie robi nic ambitnego - program obniży prędkość procesora, tym samym obniża pobór mocy. Program działa tylko na procesorach Qualcomm z serii MSM7xxx (MSM7201A/MSM7501A).

6. Overclock your Blackstone
Program służący do przetaktowywania zegara naszego procesora qualcomm w HTC HD aż do ...MHz. W zależności od sprzętu jakim dysponujemy mamy różne wyniki. Ja zazwyczaj osiągałem tylko 672HMz - następna możliwa wartość restartowała telefon (Soft-Reset). Na jednym ROMie miałem 691HMz, może ktoś inny osiągnie lepszy wynik.

Jeśli chodzi o słowo "overcloking" to jest ono na wyrost bo niestety qualcommów nie da się podkręcać i nie wszystkie te programy znajdą zastosowanie w tym dziale. Dlatego nie wiem czy tego nie przenieść do Oprogramowanie

Dlaczego ten dział? Zwłaszcza, że te programy nie oferują zmiany taktowania procesora qualcomm?

1. XGuru istnieje w jednej słusznej wersji, mojej (no chyba, że ktoś lubi ruski)

Obecnie mam HTC HD dlatego startuję z tego działu - nie widzę problemów z przeniesieniem tego wątku do innego działu. A ten post to nic innego jak "resztki/pozostałości" z mojego poprzedniego PDA.
