Since when are you facing this issue?
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:03 PM] --
always - I never was able to connect using WPA encoding
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:04 PM] --
on iPAQ I see that my WiFi access point is avaible - but when trying to connect I see only message 'connectin...' for few seconds and later status is again 'Avaible'
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:06 PM] --
Are you able to connect to WiFi access point without the WPA-PSK enabled?
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:06 PM] --
Yes - when I choose the WEP (128bit) encoding
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:09 PM] --
Did you download a patch to connect through WEP (128 bit) encoding?
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:12 PM] --
nope - I was able to connect WEP always - even with 1st version of ROM image.
WPA and WPA-PSK was added to iPAQ4150 after upgrading ROM to 1.10 version (delivered at the end of August this year)
At the end of September HP delivered update fro WLAN driver - I have it installed too. And I never was able to connect using WPA-PSK
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:12 PM] --
Ah - there is no patch for WEP (128bit) AFAIK

Please perform a soft reset on the ipaq h4100 pocket PC using the following steps:-
1) Locate the recessed Reset button on the side of your iPAQ Pocket PC.
2) Use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button. The Pocket PC restarts and displays the Today screen.
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:16 PM] --
What for? I've made soft reset few times after I've installed last patch
BTW. I'm computer scientist so you can talk with me with more complicated language
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:19 PM] --
A soft reset could resolve the issue. I request that you perform the soft reset and try again.
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:23 PM] --
Again status is avaible
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:24 PM] --
Could you try turning the ipaq on and then off and then try again.
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:25 PM] --
I told you - I'm computer scientist and I've tried few different configurations
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:27 PM] --
Don't you understand - I've tried that all !!!
I'm IT specialist with over 7 years experience - I don't call support when I don't try basic solutions
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:28 PM] --
Do you have logged any other support case with Linksys product, or other cases when iPAQ cannot connect to others AP via WiFi and WPA-PSK ?
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:30 PM] --
Waldemar, I understand that you are a computer scientist and have tried some troubleshooting steps. I was only trying to help. As you know, may people do not try any troubleshooting beforehand.
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:30 PM] --
This issue occurs as a result of a problem with the h4100 series WLAN driver. HP is working on this. A permanent solution is not yet available.
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:31 PM] --
Is my support-case first one for that issue?
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:32 PM] --
So you confirm that WLAN driver in iPAQ4150 is still bugged?
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:33 PM] --
HP has recognised this as a issue with the ipaq h4150 and is working on it.
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:33 PM] --
What time new patch will be avaible?
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:35 PM] --
There is no fixed time as of now. I suggest that you monitor the HP website for further updates on this issue.
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:36 PM] --
Thank you, good night
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:37 PM] --
Is there anything else I can assist you with?
[ Thu, Oct 7, 2004 9:37 PM] --
Nope. bye bye
